Confab ‘24 | Green Design Visionaries

Our annual conference was held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in San Francisco.
It was a full day of great conversation and networking at the
Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Read on for highlights.

This annual conference for design and build professionals, and those who are just green-design minded, was produced by the Good Future Design Alliance and co-hosted by the AIA| SF Committee on the Environment.  Leaders from the design industry shared what’s happening right now in the design world as it pertains to the greening of our industry. We held panel discussions between interior designers, architects, ecologists, builders and product makers who are applying the concepts of sustainability to their work today. We also had a lighting round of short talks from visionaries: shaping the future of the building industry, using AI to measure the carbon footprint of interiors, how waste products can turn into building materials, the importance of making water sourcing a strategy in construction, and even how art can bring awareness to plastic pollution.

Fascinating new ideas, Panel discussions, Thought frameworks, ‘Future Think,’ Networking—and more—all with people who are doing it, not just thinking about it.
